We drew Wild West Outlaw Play Set for the field and range end of the Maxx Action yard, where a piece of outdoor kit has to work as hard as it looks. It works a pump-action mechanism; it carries its own light and sound set; the box holds 5 pieces rather than a bare truck.

Here is what it does, in plain terms: This western-themed playset includes 5 detailed pieces: 2 toy cap blasters, 2 holsters, and custom belt. Whether you're the outlaw, bandit, or sheriff, this combo pack is just what you need to rule the Wild West. True to life details and Western styling will transport the imagination to a world of cowgirls, cowboys, and life on the frontier. The bright orange tip increases visibility for safe play.

Realistic popping sound effects make for vivid and exciting roleplay. Kids will feel like they’re in the wild, wild west. Kid-friendly construction: Made from durable, lightweight materials with smooth edges for safe handling. DON’T forget your ammo: Load blasters with 8-shot ring caps that are easy to load. Ring caps sold separately.

A classic wild west cap gun set designed for action packed pretend play, this combo includes 2 silver tone toy cap pistols and a custom belt with dual holsters for an authentic frontier look. Inspired by the Old West toy cap gun style, each piece features detailed molding and realistic sound effects that bring cowboy adventures to life. Sized for kids ages 5 and up, the adjustable belt sits comfortably around the waist, making it a great kids cowboy gun and holster set for dress up, role play, and themed parties. The durable plastic construction is lightweight at 0.55 lb., easy to carry, and made for active indoor or outdoor play.

We mark this one for ages 5+, which is about grip size and small parts rather than how hard it is to enjoy. This one belongs in the garden rather than the hallway, and the age mark on the box is not decoration.

Living with this Maxx Action outdoor kit

We rate Wild West Outlaw Play Set on performance rather than packaging, and performance here means whether a pump-action mechanism still works after a season on a hard floor. On that measure the performance holds up, which is why we have not redrawn it.

Keeping it in service is a kitchen-table job: grit brushed dry out of the hubs instead of oiled, a barely damp cloth on the bodywork, and the accessories washed properly in warm water. Nothing here needs a workshop, and nothing here voids anything. Anything that breaks inside normal service goes back through the order page of the partner store that handled the sale, not through us.

What owners wrote about this model

Must have for your little cowboy

This was the perfect gift for my 7 year old cowboy wannabe. He loves that it came with two holsters and boomsticks and a big cowboy belt buckle. They can be used with or without caps, which are sold separately. The belt doesn't feel very high quality and I'm questioning how long it will last, but for the price, it's to be expected.
